Beginner · Lesson 1 · Reading Candlesticks
Read the close, not the colour alone
A large body with a small opposing wick and a close near the candle’s extreme suggests strength. A long upper wick shows that price traded higher but was pushed back; a long lower wick shows that price traded lower but recovered. That is evidence of rejection, not an automatic reversal.
Always wait for a candle to close. A live candle can appear to break a level, reverse completely and finish on the other side. Until the period ends, its story is unfinished.

Questions worth asking
I'm a complete beginner — is this for me?+
Yes. The Beginner module starts at reading a single candlestick and builds from there, so nothing assumes knowledge from somewhere else. If you already know the basics, the Intermediate and Advanced modules are where the model comes together.
How long does it take?+
It's self-paced. Work through a lesson when you have the time — your progress, quiz results and notes are saved, so you can pick up where you left off.
Do I need the Monitron indicator?+
No. The Academy stands on its own. It does teach the confluence checklist the indicator implements, so if you want both, the Indicator + Academy bundle is the cheaper route.
Will this make me a profitable trader?+
No course can promise that, and this one doesn't. It teaches you to read and understand the ICT model clearly and consistently. How you apply it — and the results — are down to your own decisions, risk management and discipline.
Is it financial advice?+
No. The Academy is educational content about chart analysis. It doesn't tell you what or when to trade, and it doesn't take your personal circumstances into account.
